Notes for Anders Olsen Rorvig
This man was supposedly related to Gustav Vasa, King of Sweden. (I was told that every one in this province thought they were related to the Vasa Family.) He was married in Sweden, and had one son about 16 years old when he went to Norway in 1728. He came from the Village of Kap, in Dalarna, in Sweden. He received the farm Rorvigin as a grant from the King of Sweden, and remarried after he came to Norway. He was said to be relatively wealthy, and had several farms. He also had several other sons. Uncle Andrew, or Andreas, brother of Ole Ruud of Waterville, is said to have believed that this man, his great-great-grandfather, came from Sweden.
